Painting Pottery

This morning I took Fletcher and Cam to Meg-Art in Huntersville to paint some pottery. They did great and had fun with paint and brushes. Cam used every shade of blue they had on the shelf, while Fletcher's taste was more varied and he used many, many colors! After the pottery place we walked around the fountain at Northcross and saw the geese. I got nostalgic today because I remember taking the boys on this same outing last year at this time and realized how much they have changed and grown!

Thanksgiving!

Hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving! We spent Thanksgiving in Cincinnati, Ohio with Ed's sister and her family, Ed's parents, and Great Gram. We all had a great time catching up and eating wonderful food. The kids loved playing together. Cathy and Louis took us to one of their great area parks, Sharon Woods, on Friday and we all had such a great time that we went back on Saturday. We got back to Huntersville at 3 a.m. this morning and may need all day to recover from the trip back home. Here are some of my favorite pictures of Fletcher and his cousins, Emily and Caitlin, and the rest of the family enjoying each others company. We are thankful for such a wonderful family!

Sunday Outing

We were feeling really indecisive Sunday so we called our friends, the Harrington's, to find out what they were up to. They were having and indecisive day, too, so Tonya and I made a decision: we took the kids to Beaver Dam Historic site (hadn't been there since Chris and Tonya's wedding day) and then to Roosevelt Wilson Park in Davidson to enjoy some fall weather, the beautiful fall leaves, and each others company. It was a nice outing for us all and Tonya and I got some great shots of the kids. Here are a few of my favorites (you may see something similar in your Christmas card).

Danielle's Pumpkin Patch Pictures

Here are some of the wonderful photos that my friend, Danielle Anthony the photographer took of Fletcher at Carrigan Farms in October. Love them! Thanks, Danielle!

New Old Chairs

My Mom got four new old chairs herself so she brought me her two old old chairs and so now they are my two new old chairs! I love them! Don't have a place for them now, but hope to one day.

Fletcher never wants to have his picture taken (until I'm taking pictures of something else), so here is Fletcher in a new old chair.

Catching Up

My Mom came over the weekend to visit and to keep Fletcher on Saturday night while I went to Dawn's just-because get-together in Winston-Salem with Tonya (Ed was working). We had great fun as Dawn is a wonderful hostess and got to see some old friends and meet Dawn's friends. Fletcher and Grandmaw had a great time making cookies, watching Thomas, and reading books together. Sunday, Fletcher and I enjoyed visiting with Mom some more and went to the playground and out to lunch with her before she headed back to the 'boro. No school for Fletcher on Monday so he and I accepted Tonya's invitation to come play and the boys had fun together. This morning the kids and I took a walk and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Nature Walk

While the kids are watching an episode of Blue's Clues, thought I'd take a few minutes to post some of the pictures from our nature walk this morning. We had a great time walking around the neighborhood collecting leaves, acorns, sticks, and more and talking about the things we found. The kids brought along the magnifying glasses to take a look at nature up close. It was a perfect morning for being outside.

Weekend Report

After school on Friday, Fletcher and I had some errands to run and he also had a haircut at Snip-its. Never one of our favorite events (hence the once-every-six-months pattern with trims by Mommy in between) but Fletcher did great! It's amazing how different and more mature he looks with his hair cut shorter! :( This was the first weekend in many that we didn't have anything planned so Saturday Fletcher and I we went to the bookstore and the library: a literacy rich day. At 5:30pm we made the impromptu decision to ride to Wilkes with Ed and spend the night with Mom while Ed was at work. We had a nice visit and Mom was very pleased that we came. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Had a Happy Halloween!

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween. We sure did. Fletcher had a great day a school and Miss Debbie, the science lady, was there with her skeleton, Bob, and the kids helped her make a spider web, too. After school Cam and Fletcher enjoyed talking about Halloween and couldn't wait until it was time to trick-or-treat. They put on their costumes so each could see the others. Fletcher and I wet to Tonya's house (Ed had to work) and took Billy Ray, Hannah Montana, Elvis, and a Frog to the Scarecrow and Tin Man's spooky house for chili and then went trick-or-treating with Snow White and Alice in Tonya's neighborhood. Thanks for letting us tag along with your gang, Tonya! I was exhausted and Fletcher needed to get to bed, so we headed back home around 8:30pm. Happy Boo to you and yours!

Keeping up with family and friends and posting lots of photos of Fletcher
